WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE!!

Hi, I'm Mandy Tan, currently taking diploma (part-time) at Singapore Institution of Management. How time flies, I am already at my fourth semester now. Worst of all, this term requires me to create a web page! BIG headache!!! Because I am a computer idiot...

Well, after much effort, I finally managed to create my own web page. However, I am not going to be like an old granny telling long and boring stories so I will try and make it short. I am going to give a brief description of the important events that happened in my life:

Yes! Yes! This chubby baby is me. I was a huge baby when born, much heavier than my brother. However, I am definitely much smaller size than my brother now. In order to keep fit, I try to exercise as often as I could and eat as little portion as possible.

As for hobby, I like to swim and jog frequently. My favourite past-time was a trip to Sentosa for a dip, especially during weekdays. It is simply fantastic. Firstly, you do not have to squeeze with other people on the bus. Secondly, the beach is not crowded. Lastly, another plus point (especially for the ladies) - you do not have to queue to get a shower which otherwise you'll have to wait for at least an hour or so. It can be very frustrating.

My very first job was with DBS Bank for 5 years. I was then an Administrative Assistant performing procurement works and at the same time, an assistant to the Vice President of Admin Department.

My second job was with Republic of Singapore Navy where I spent two and the half years working as an Administrative Supervisor. There was a drastic change in the working environment as my colleagues were mostly male colleagues. The real headache came with the NSF intakes where most of the times, I really have to mean business before things get done nicely.

My third job was with Laser Ace Cable & Accessories Pte Ltd where I worked as a Sales & Marketing Executive. It was a real challenge for me as I never really like sales job. Obviously, this job lasted only for one and the half years. The experience provided me with a good lesson in life, as I was able to see the good and ugly side of people.

Presently, I am with International Air Transport Association (IATA), working as a Finance & Admin Assistant. I would say that this company is one of the best I ever worked with. The plus point about this company is that you get to know what your colleagues are doing. This is done through the programme "Soundbites" held on every Friday, where one of the colleagues will be given fifteen minutes to present his/her upcoming project or job scope.
