I went on a six days trip to Hong Kong in year 2001. I was extremely happy and excited as it was my first overseas trip and my first time on a plane. The food was simply irresistible. I remembered putting on a few kg after my trip. Besides this, the contents in my wardrobes also increased tremendously, this is why the country is renowned for its wonderful "buy things, eat things" experience.
(Photo on the left above) Whoa.. No wonder these people can be supermodel and actor. Just look at their height! Since I may never get a chance to take photos with the real-life supermodel and actor, I took this chance to visit Madame Tussauds wax museum housing prominent figures from the world.
(Photo in the middle above) The man in uniform is not a statue. He is from the Hong Kong Police Force.
(Photo on the right above) Though it was my first time in Hong Kong, I was glad that I was able to move about without much difficulties. Just like Singapore, taking trains and buses was simple except their fares were more expensive. It took me about 3 hours for travelling just to see the famous Tian Tan Buddha (also know as Giant Buddha) situated at Lantau Island. The conclusion to my first trip: Hong Kong's scenery is simply fascinating!
My second trip was to Taiwan in year 2002. This trip was meaningful because I attended my brother's wedding there. It was more like a family trip than holiday. Although Taiwan is a typical Chinese country, I did not fancy the food there. Most of their food were deep-fried and salty, which I disliked. However, one plus point about Taiwan would be their nightlife. It was much more interesting than Singapore's. Weather in Taiwan was also unpredictable. You can have bright sunshine for one minute and you'll be scrambling for a thick jacket for the next as the weather would turn very cold suddenly. We did not spend too much time traveling this time round as my sister-in-law drove us around for sight-seeing. In total, I spent a short but nice 4 days in Taiwan.
